October will be our 3 year anniversary. Friends For Paws was started by Kellie & Angie when we found out there was a dumped pregnant pit bull in Pendleton & no shelter to take her in. It took over 2 weeks to catch her & many volunteers. We love our Ninja & are proud of what 1 dog has done to change a community. FFP has spent many hours speaking at board meeting & promoting change. It takes a community working together. It has taken our town board, police officers, community & FFP WORKING TOGETHER to make a change. So many changes have happened in our community & many more changes are coming. We sit back & see the communities around us & are saddened by the fact that there are no changes being made. Citizens & shelters need to work together! Neighbors need to start catching wild cats & TNRing them. Save lives, stop complaining about the problem & be part of the change. Start being a pain in your town boards side. DEMAND CHANGES! Going to 1 or 2 meetings changes NOTHING! Go month after month as a group. STOP LETTING ANIMALS DIE! Stop pushing it off & step up to the plate. Start electing officials who care about the lives of animals. Dumping your pet on the side of the road is unexceptable! Taking them to the shelter because thats what they are there for is unexceptable! Take responsibility spay, neuter & TNR. If you cant afford it then please do not take on the animal. There are many low cost clinics around check around. There are food pantries for Madison county Ernies pet food pantry & We have one for Pendleton residents. Look around in your county. Help is out there you just have to research. Shelters start promoting TNR. Educate your community out there. Education is key. Please adopt. Save a life.
