Official Announcement: Cancellation of Rockabilly Riot 2013 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre A serious of posts will follow this announcement however we wanted to advise first that due to a series of delays from third parties involved in the running of the event for 2013 and the recent campaign of rumours and activity mainly by individuals who from the first day of announcement of the event went public that were opposed to the event we have decided to cancel the Rockabilly Riot Lifestyle Expo 2013. This morning all exhibitors were contacted by email as with performers and other parties that were involved in the creation of the event by way of email with details on what will happen next in regards to refunds for exhibitor fees paid and more. This was not an easy decision to make and we looked at all options available to us this past few days to continue with the event. Ultimately it comes down to ensuring that ticket sales reach a standard that ensures the success of the event and we feel that with the past few days of allegations and rumours this will dramatically impact on last weeks sales for the event and we only want to see a successful event happen, especially when the event was a first of its kind in terms of format and layout. We were not prepared to make the announcement until we had contacted all parties that were involved with the expo, whether it is suppliers, exhibitors or others who had become a feature of the event, which has now been done. For patrons that have purchased tickets for the event via the ticketing agencies and website, we have notified the agencies of the cancellation in which they will proceed with the refund process policies of their individual agencies. You will receive refunds from them directly and via email notification. For everyone that has supported the event and those who in the last 4 days in particular that have taken the time to call and email supporting the event and have expressed their concern about the aggressive nature of a few that have attacked the event in light of speculation or individuals involved with the event we thank you for your kind words and support.
