Oh, Cross. There you stood, once a sight only to dread. Everything - TopicsExpress

Oh, Cross. There you stood, once a sight only to dread. Everything changed, though, the day that Jesus submitted to your jagged embrace. He took my place, a perfect sacrifice to save someone like me; a lowly sinner. Oh, you old Cross. To me, you no longer represent death. You represent hope. My fascination is for Jesus, the One who came down from the light of Glory, to join with you in the darkness on Golgotha hill. It was there that He took on the burden of my sins. He suffered; agony beyond compare. He died as the worthy Lamb of God. You see, Cross, you are now stained with Jesus divine blood. Forever, your purpose has changed, as I now hold you up as wondrous proof that I am pardoned. I accept what He has done. I am sanctified and will forever be true to Him. Someday, He will call me home, where He will share His Glory with me. Until that day, I will cherish and cling to you; old rugged Cross. One day, Ill exchange you for a crown. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. - Hebrews 12:2-3
