Ok homeschool moms. Im doing Kindergarten with Josiah and Darby come September. I think I have decided loosely on curriculums Im using, but Im wondering three things from you: 1) how do you set up your schedules, and do you do it for the whole semester before the semester starts? do you use templates/what blog have you found that is the most helpful in giving insight on how to set up your daily schedule? 2) those of you who are past kindergarten, did you do a lot of math in K (such as a program like Math U See) or did you do only a little bit and pretty unstructured? 3) just a show of hands, how many of you in South Florida would be interested in meeting up once a month? I gotta be honest and say Im pretty positive I will hate any group/homeschool group that is already established and full of members. Im talking LOOSE meetings...free flowing, just talking, airing out our thoughts/maybe going and doing something cool together as just girls...NOT a group for homeschool moms to come to and be advocating for certain curriculum/using it as a platform to push agendas/etc, using it as a babysitting service, and not meetings where kids come and none of us can relax. Literally, JUST to be able to talk and explore ideas together. Im not promising Im putting anything together or when, just want to know if there is any interest from moms who arent already in a group and who may feel like me (let me spell it out..feel like me i.e. feel like most groups out there are wacko, maybe a bit cultish, maybe full of long skirt wearing women who dont enjoy the occasional cocktail or have an all out booty dancing party....I mean mamas like me who are ok with living a normal life...ok Im done.). Anyone? and would appreciate thoughts on questions #1 and #2.
