Ok, ok. Im throwing my two cents in...heeheehee Yes, back in the old days, there were some tough people who settled this land we now call Oklahoma. Back then, they had to do a lot of things we dont have to do now, such as hook up a horse and buggy and travel for a long ways just to get supplies, go to church or visit a friend. They didnt have luxuries such as heated/air conditioned cars. They didnt have electricity, running water, indoor bathrooms, and so forth. They were strong and tough because they had to be. We have these luxuries now. Should we not use them because it makes us wimps? If you havent figured out by now, Im slightly implying that I think people are getting way too bent out of shape because of our school closing for the cold temperatures. Yes, there are children who have survived these temperatures before. Does that mean we should send our children out in it when they are not accustomed to it, and some of them without proper clothing just because it makes them wimps? If that is the case, then maybe we shouldnt use electricity, running water, washers, dryers, cars, and the list goes on. You know all of those things make us wimps in comparison to our forefathers. I, admit, I am a wimp in comparison to my great great grandmothers. I am SO glad I dont have to walk a mile to a one room school house in the frigid temperatures to start a fire for my pupils. I think Ill use my instincts, and hibernate until the temperatures are a little less frigid.
