Ok, proud dad moment, so indulge me. This past May, I lost my dad, Jim McHugh Sr. a proud member of the Mt. Carmel Class of 1940. The other day, my sons, Jim (MC Class of 95) and Tim (MC Class of 96), informed me that they have endowed the James McHugh ’40 Foundation to provide a scholarship at Mt. Carmel High School for a kid who is a legacy and a product of a Catholic grammar school. How touching to know how much my Dad meant to his grandsons, and their recognition of what Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel meant to their grandfather. I don’t brag about my kids a lot, but this is freckin cool.
