Ok so lets pretend you own a small engine repair business in oh lets say Huachuca City. And lets pretend a city guy (from Sierra Vista) brings in his weed-eater to be repaired because the dang fool thing wont start. Would you A. Give this piece of equipment some tracking number (say a tag, and give one half to the customer, and attached the other half to the weed-eater) or B. Give the item a tag and give the customer half and lose the other... Okay now fast forward 3.5 weeks later and the customer calls to see if they have their Estimate ready yet? The gal answers, and says oh yeah that is right here. And the customer asks, how much is the estimate, the office lady responds well I would have to add of the things up and let you know, so the Customer says okay I will stop in on friday to get the estimate. So this customer waits until Friday and starts to think, parts adding it all up.... The damn thing only cost me $99 bucks 5 years ago, how much are they going to estimate the charges will be. Well this customer calls on Friday to check and the lady who answers it says I cant find it can you come in and Identify it and we can tell you how much parts and labor we put into it because I cant locate it. Okay so, 1. they made repairs without authorization, I know for a fact this customer is going to get there today to be presented some outlandish bill for repairs that were not authorized. So now what does this customer do? Does he tell them to eat country bear shit, does he suck it up and just pay for it knowing he can get a new one for $99.99 at Lowes TODAY and save the trip to the ghetto (and since the customer works on a military installation, he is not carrying his beloved 9mm). What is a customer to do......
