Okay. Presentation description done. Readings chosen. I think. Who is Mary Sue, and Why Do We Hate Her? Sean Robinson No one seems to like Mary Sue these days. Why not? Where does she come from? Who are her people? From where does she derive the power to captivate the unwary writer and disgust the jaded? In this presentation we will undertake a deep evaluation of her history, reputation, uses and her future. Beginning with a basic introduction to literary Genre Theory, we will define and discuss the Mary Sue’s place in writing.
