Okay folks....this is serious stuff. Four of us volunteers are getting together and arranging an online auction to raise funds to help pay down vet bills for Ninth Life Cat Rescue of Ontario. Please take a moment to read through the following letter, and if you can help, please let us know. There is probably a better way of doing this, but not being a techie, I will do it the long, hard way and copy/paste the letter right here. September 2014 Dear Friend of Ninth Life Cat Rescue of Ontario: On behalf of Ninth Life Cat Rescue, we are writing to ask for your participation in our 2014 Fundraising Online Auction, which is scheduled to run during the month of November. Ninth Life Cat Rescue is a Non-Profit feline rescue organization based out of Etobicoke, Mississauga and Oakville, Ontario. Our adoption fees and money gathered from special events and private donations from people like you are our only source of funding. We receive no government support. Every dime is used to further our rescue efforts and pay the veterinary bills for cats that require special care. Many of the cats and kittens we rescued this year required extensive veterinary care, resulting in an increase in these bills. This year alone we had Chickadee and Greyjay as well as one other cat, who required eye surgery, Caramel who had a benign ear tumor, several Animal Control rescues with pneumonia, a couple of cats who were cryptorchid, a caesarian delivery and Tinker (the wobbler) who needs a neurological assessment and a cart for his back legs – and these are just a few examples. Our Online Auction will be organized and run by Ninth Life Cat Rescue volunteers. We will set it up using Facebook and hope all of you will give it a look, tell your friends and family about it, and perhaps do a little shopping. We are requesting your participation in this fundraising initiative by donating items to make this auction a success. If you have any merchandise (gift cards, gift baskets, prints, sculptures, electronics etc.) to offer to this auction it would be greatly appreciated. You may even have some items you intended to re-gift. All donations should be new and in their original packaging unless otherwise deemed appropriate. If you would like to contribute items to the auction, please provide a description of the items by e-mail to ninthlifecatrescue@yahoo. Where it is feasible we will arrange pick-up of items at your convenience. If you prefer to simply make a monetary donation, that would be equally acceptable.
