Okay golfers, week one was a relative success! Despite the bleak forecast we had 8 players out. Well below our average, but better than expected. To all the wusses who decided to not come out, you missed a pretty good day. Aside from a slight dousing early and a three club wind on some holes, the weather and company was very enjoyable. Skins for the week went like this. Big John Sanders took a skin on par 4 #3 with a NET 4, Mike Helman took 2 skins with a NET 3 on the par 4, 7th and an impressive Birdie on the tough par 4, 16th. Todd Amerlinck got a skin with a par 4 on hole 11, and yours truly was the only one able to par the par 3, 17th. The player of the week honours go hands down this week to Gary Kitunen. He made the Tri-Fecta on hole #2 taking the CTP, The Deuce and the Skin. He also Birdied the par 5 first hole, and was the only golfer able to par the par 5 14th hole for two more skins. Congratulations! The Skins were worth $5 this week. The CTP and the Deuce are worth $8. We have an $8 carry over for the CTP from hole # 17, which will be added to the CTP pot next week when we reconvene at Camlachie Golf Course. The tournament fund is at a modest $16 and the expenses and charitable fund are both at $8. So in closing I would like to thank everyone who came out. Honourable mention going out to Bruce Campbell (who will be posting the scores and other interesting information soon.) and Jim Dobson. And thanks to my foursome, Big John, Al Kitunen, and Todd Amerlinck for the enjoyable round. Thank you to Widder Station for accommodating us on short notice. The course was in pretty good condition considering the winter we just had, and the wet weather of late. Anyway, I hope to see a lot more golfers next week at Camlachie. I will be there rain or shine. And remember , Keep your head down!. P.S. - There will be a schedule change! I have finally gotten ahold of Indian Hills and am waiting to hear back about the details. We are likely gonna play there on July 9th.
