Okay, this makes me wonder about the bad car wreck, Edward Scissorhands sculpture near I-80 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Many artists and others from the east coast feel that way about factories: man vs. machine. They seem to have a hard time understanding the Midwest. Perhaps they made the leap that farming = factories? While its true that Monsanto and its minions are developing GMOs (artificial foods) that havent been proven safe yet, most farming has resulted in edible food and it has been chemicals more than equipment that has caused damage. So its difficult for Midwesterners to hate a tractor or the flywheel from a combine. Farmers have been managers, not indentured servants.
