Olive Bistros Special For The Month: The BIG Fat Greek Kitchen We’re so not done raving & craving the ongoing THE BIG FAT GREEK KITCHEN – a Greek food festival that lasts ONLY this month at Olive Bistro. For the uninitiated, there is still half a month to go! Don’t miss out on the opportunity of trying some delectable Hellenic food from one of the most admired kitchens of the city. But the experience is not only driven by food or drinks. Gorge & glug on some awe inspiring crafted dishes & drinks amidst a Greek tavern like decor. THIS is what dreamy evenings are made of! Having said all that, let us tell you what Greek food is made of – essentially Feta Cheese and Olive Oil. Simple basic ingredients have been played around creatively to devise a menu that’s not only true to the traditional taste but also pure delight to the taste buds. Imported ingredients like Kalamata olives make way to your plates generously to uphold the authentic flavors. Here’s what makes us say all this… Tiramisu Martini Do not miss sipping on to this liquid luxury conjured with Vodka, Kahlua, old monk and vanilla essence. How can something taste this phenomenal? There has to be some secret ingredient! Greco Chicken & Cream Cheese Wood Oven Pizza Greco style marinated chicken alongside some tomato & onions, mozzarella & loads of Fetta drizzled with cream cheese sauce – all come perched on a crispy thin crust pizza base – you wouldn’t want to share this one! Greek Pita Souvlaki & Gyro Wraps We opted for the Chicken Gyro Wrap and it came from the live Gyro Wraps & Grill Station on their courtyard that’s specially been set up for the festival. With the first bite you sink in succulent chicken topped with tzatziki, tomato & onions wrapped in hot pita bread. They serve this with some crunchy Greek salad. We went gaga on the chicken but you can also pick from other options available namely Veg Souvlaki, Lamb Kebab or Beef Gyro. Shank Kleftiko A chef’s recommendation, this one has tender lamb leg morsels cooked in a pot with potatoes, herbs & vegetables in a unique way topped with kalamata olive oil & feta cheese. A delectable wholesome savoury meal had us happier than ever. MOVING ON TO THE DESSERTS (We’re trying to show our excitement here with the caps... all of them are must trys!) Chocolate Salami The name got us curious. What we were served got us detached from the world! Salami slices of sinful dark chocolate & pistachio served with a butter crunch Greek yoghurt ice cream – need we say more?? We’re going back for this one! OB Baklava This Olive Bistro special is a Greek tweak to a traditional crunchy dessert. Flaky phyllo pastry layerd with walnut& pistachio filling comes bathed in a sweet honey syrup.
