On 08/06/14 at 3:43 a.m. Racine County Sheriffs Deputies were dispatched to 1333 9th Ave. in the Village of Union Grove for a burglary in progress. Upon arrival deputies made contact with the occupants of the residence who advised that they awoken by a female in their residence. The female identified as Alicia Rushing F/W 3/24/1990 was discovered in the kitchen of the residence where she remained until Sheriffs Deputies arrived. Deputies initiated contact with Rushing and located multiple credit cards in Rushings possession that were determined to be the property of the homeowner. Through the course of a continuing investigation Racine Sheriff investigators were to establish a direct connection between Rushing and several recent vehicle break-ins throughout the Union Grove area. The Sheriffs Office has been actively investigating a number of vehicle break-ins that have occurred over the past several weeks. As a result of this incident Rushing was taken into custody and transported to the Racine County jail where she is being held on felony and misdemeanor charges. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and Sheriffs investigators have identified additional parties responsible for the recent break ins to vehicles in Union Grove. There is no additional information being provided at this time.
