On 11/01/14 at 3:40am Deputies observed a vehicle in the Village of Rochester that was the subject of an Officer Safety message that was sent out by the Caledonia Police Department. The vehicle was taken without permission from the owner in the Village of Caledonia. The suspect was a 31 year old male from Pleasant Prairie. The suspect was later identified as Timothy Zegar. The Officer Safety message stated that Timothy was armed with a .38 cal handgun with extra rounds. It was also reported that the Timothy was intoxicated. As Deputies initiated the traffic stop, using emergency lights and siren, on the suspect vehicle it increased its speed, refusing to stop. A pursuit was initiated by Deputies which ended in Muskego when the vehicle became stuck in a marsh. The pursuit took place over a total 10.2 miles with speeds reaching 100mph in a 55mph zone. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The Sheriff’s office was assisted by the following agencies during the pursuit and subsequent arrest: Wisconsin State Patrol, Muskego Police Department, Waukesha Sheriff Department, and New Berlin Police Department. Timothy was taken into custody and turned over to the Racine County Jail on the following charges: operating while intoxicate 5th offense, operating a motor vehicle to flee an officer, operate motor vehicle without owners consent, carry concealed weapon, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon (armed while under the influence of intoxicant), and operating while revoked.
