On April 26th 2014 MMUST will hold a Literal Colloquium where the best literal minds in Kenya will converge to discuss issues including the state of the Nation and other matters affecting our literature. The theme; The State of Criticism in East Africa will headline the discourse. David Mailu, Binyavanga Wainaina are expected not to forget literal Gurus ; Prof Chris Wanjala and Prof Peter Amuka. As bonafide students of MMUST this an oppotunity to bring issues into focus esp the quality of educ offered at our univ, including the socratic method of lecturing that was popular during the formative years of higher educ in Kenya. Also issues to do with student politics and the level of involvement, adminstrations have entrenched themselves in elective student politics stiffling their growth to influence national decisions as was the case during the 1990s. I urge all and sundry to take this opportunity and vent out issues that are at the heart of any univ student in Kenya. Lets take this road as for now this is the avenue of positive change to all our challenges.
