On Friday November 8th students from Howar Junior High School attended the annual Career Day event hosted by Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. While there, Walt Kamerick, Robotics Instructor for IHCC, announced that 8th grade student Emily Byte was awarded a $2,000 scholarship for the Indian Hills Robotics Program. Emily is currently a leader in the Howar Robotics and Technology Club, “Big Red Machines”, as well as a founding member of the Centerville Science Technology Girls, a group that supports girls interested in STEMs fields of studies.
