On June 11 we held our Installation Dinner at the Redfield Estate at 6. Mike Mazzei got sworn in before he takes office. President Sue passed out a bunch of special Rotary pins: theme pins to all the members present, and special officer’s pins to Ken Cooke (Secretary), Pat Dalton (President Elect). A special Guatemala Literacy Project pin was given to Joe and Chuck Balling. Of course, incoming President Mike presented Sue with the coveted Past President Pin (that all of us Past Presidents thought meant that we were done, but learned that it was never done). We feasted on vodka tomato cream pasta and lemon chicken with salad and green beans and wonderful little cheese cake popsicles and cannoli’s in a cup, all provided by Catered by Design (the old Pasta Ria on Milwaukee and Central). I was pleased to recognize one of the lady servers as from Pasta Ria, and amazingly enough, she recognized me as well. The Redfield Estate was beautiful as usual (Glenview Park District does a magnificent job).
