On Monday, Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan stepped to the podium two days after a 23 point victory over the Buffalo Bills. Shanahan, known for being a fantastic talent evaluator and even better leader of men, isn’t setting expectations at another 10-6 season after a 3-6 start. He’s setting the bar at a Super Bowl victory, just like any coach who’s tasted success would. As he always says, only one team is happy at the end of the year and the Redskins want to be the one’s smiling as they stroll through the streets of D.C. in February after a Super Bowl victory. Before that happens though, they need to get in final preparations for the Week 1 battle against the Eagles. The two-time Super Bowl champion head coach touched on what he told rookie running back Chris Thompson after his second fumble in as many game, a health update on quarterback Kirk Cousins, and if veterans Santana Moss and DeAngelo Hall are the best options for returning kicks.
