On Sunday January 19th my husband was walking our dog on Barefoot Blvd. A Pit bull mix came out of his yard broke his cable and mauled and maimed our Brittany/ We took Patches to the emergency Animal Hospital in Melbourne where she underwent a 4 hour surgery. We got the Sherriff and the Brevard County Animal Control involved. The gentleman said he would pay our vet bills, however I do not believe he has the means or desire to do that. Brevard county fined him on several counts. He did not have control of his pet, no shots, the list goes on. The dog is quarantined for now big deal. We spoke to John Coffey our Community Manager who sympathized with us, but admitted there was little he could do. I have a project now to make our wonderful community safe for children, seniors, our pets and everyone. Please back me as I pursue this issue.
