On my heart: In Genesis 19:17, God sent angels to warn and rescue Lot and his family. They said, Run for your lives! And dont look back or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away! And what did Lots wife do? She looked back and turned into a pillar of salt! I was thinking about this and its application to my life. Memories of my past pop into my head more often than I would like. Its usually accompanied by an accusing thought and often, guilt slips in right behind it. Everyone pretty well knows that when we dwell on the past, we become stuck right there and are unable to fully move forward into the good things that God has prepared for our future. Unlike Lots wife, I do NOT want to become a frozen monument, paying tribute to my past! The remedy? Every time the past comes back to haunt me, I will remind myself, I have learned what I need to learn from the past and I am moving forward into all the good things that God has planned for me a long time ago! God is working all things together for my good and His glory--even the mistakes of my past are all factored in and God is doing what only He can do in and through my life! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The OLD LIFE IS GONE; a NEW LIFE HAS BEGUN! ~2 Cor. 5:17 (NLT) Have a great day, friends! :D
