On the 23rd/24th August was the 6th round of the Youngster Cup in the German ADAC Championship, this time in Gaildorf. With 3 rounds to go and only 5 points separating the top 3 riders, the Championship is still wide open. On Saturday morning, once again the 85 entries were split into odd and even numbers. Calvin posted fastest practice time in his group and then the riders were shuffled for the qualification session. Calvin posted fastest time overall securing him first gate pick for the 2 heats on Sunday. On Sunday after the muddy warm up, it was time for the 2 heats. In heat 1 he had a good start and was lying behind Jacobi entering the first corner. He passed Jacobi but could not find his rhythm and made small mistakes and Jacobi passed him back. But in lap 2 he gained his composure and caught Jacobi again. But at the end of the 3rd lap, the official’s red flagged the race as a competitors bike flew off the track into spectators. The medics had to attend to them and 2 were taken off to hospital. The heat was cancelled. In heat 2 he once again had a good jump off the gate and was lying in 3rd during the first lap. He passed Jacobi for 2nd and then Hsu for the lead and started to pull a gap. However in lap 5 he made a small mistake and dropped the bike allowing Jacobi to pass for the lead. But he remounted and caught again. After he passed Jacobi, he then built up a 13 second lead before the chequered flag. With the 1st for the day moves up to 2nd in the Championship 2 points off Jacobi.
