On the one hand, this relatively new industry has created thousands of new jobs and has helped the country become more energy-independent. But at what cost? Secondly, if we put as much time & investment $ into building up renewable energy, we could also a) created thousands of jobs; b) become energy-independent; c) significantly reduce green-house gas emissions; and d) significantly reduce the pollution and poisons produced by fracking and other dirty energy sources. But the American public is lied to by our government and big oil. I for one would like my kids kids to have clean drinking water. I have said it before and ill say it agian, water will be at or higher then todays oil prices. When fossil fuels run out big oil will need something new to bilk money from the populist.
