On the request of Matthew Smith I am making a similar post to the one I have just put on the City of Hull Facebook Page in regard to The Northern Road Relays, as this all still applies to you East Hull lot! I am surprised by the continual lack of interest from club members for events such as this. There is loads of ability within the club, yet still a large number of members appear to lack the confidence or be unwilling to take on any events outside of the Hull area, when you are very capable. This is particularly evident when we attempt to field teams for Championship, National or Northern events. I appreciate everyone has busy lives and family commitments, so genuinely cant attend such events. But I can guarantee the day of the relays Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be full of tails of club members training escapades from that day. If you can train hard at the weekend, why cant you race just as hard, represent your club and fly the flag for Hull against the best clubs in the North of England? You wont regret the decision to participate.
