On the second night we are in the cabin, Ray is asleep in the bedroom. Im ready for Mr. Bears arrival....camera and flash all set and ready to be turned on. Im glad Ray is asleep because he always gets mad at me for opening the sliding glass door to photograph the bear 4 feet away. I hear Mr. Bear before I see him as he is noisy climbing the tree that lands him on the porch railing. Our cabin is one of his stops in search of snacks. In the past I get a little nervous when I crack the glass door open ever so quietly. In the past Mr. Bear tolerates me standing 4 feet away popping off the flash. Not last night. Last night I was nervous. And the bear was nervous. I heard him on the porch, picked up and turned on my camera, and I got nervous. My heart was in my throat. I clicked off a shot right through the closed sliding glass door. The bear jumped back away from the feeder and high tailed it at lightning speed back down the tree away from that lady with the big scary flash of light. I was surprised at how scared I was. I guess my instincts are kicking in as I get older. Anyway I was so nervous as evidenced by all the camera shake and resulting blur in the photo. He is a big bear, isnt he. Good thing I didnt open the door (this time:-)).
