On this day 5 years ago , the community I live ! Matura in Trinidad and Tobago .While you all wait for Santa to deliver gifts myself and a few loyal Radicals took the responsibility upon ourselves and answered the ignored voices of the needy, we delivered water. When we stand on common ground diplomatically the results are enormously satisfying to I&I soul. My immature agitation lol Even the ones I love called me a fool but I pursued . I even quench the thrist of I enemy . Only Rasta can liberate the people in times like these . I&I also recommence the police Youth club which was dormant for like 20 years, in six months which is evident today . So I give thanks to JAH & my friends, for these accomplishments . Pettiness is not my agenda More water for Matura as treatment plant opened Published: Saturday, December 1, 2012 Minister of State in Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources Ramona Ramdial shakes hands with WASA’s acting CEO Dion Abdool while councillor for Toco/Fishing Pond Terry Rondon, left, and chairman of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation, Alderman Keshwar Maharaj, look on during the commissioning of the Matura Portable Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday. An estimated 1,200 residents of Matura are now benefitting from an improved water supply with the construction of the Matura portable water treatment plant which draws water from the Matura River for treatment. Minister of State in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources Ramona Ramdial commissioned the plant on Wednesday. It took two years to construct. A statement from the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said the plant, which has a production capacity of 500,000 gallons of water a day, is located off Toco Main Road. It supplies several communities in Matura with a 24 hours a day, five days a week water supply, including Matura Main Road, Orosoco Road, Mendoza Road and Fortune Street. Ramdial, in her feature address, said rural communities had been neglected for far too long and expressed satisfaction in seeing the new plant come on stream. She said it would lead to a better quality of life for residents and aid in the socio-economic growth of the community. The minister urged residents to be mindful of the importance of water conservation which formed part of the overall mandate of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. Acting CEO of WASA, Dion Abdool said the construction of the plant was evidence of the authority’s efforts to fulfil its vision of becoming a high performance utility. He said more than 300 projects were in the planning stages, while others already had begun, including the Hollis Trunk Main Replacement Project and the construction of new transmission mains from Chase Village to Chaguanas.
