Once again it is time for the Annual Bishop’s Lenten Appeal. Today, we began with our first In-Pew Pledge. We will have another In-Pew Pledge next Sunday since we gave such short notice and you may not have come prepared. I apologize for the short notice! You know how important and necessary the Bishop’s Appeal is to the Diocese, to our Parish and the area as well. As you know the Appeal Campaign supports the various ministerial efforts of the Diocese to promote the Gospel. Because of your generosity to the Lenten Appeal, individuals, families, and outreach programs are provided throughout the Diocese of Harrisburg. Consider children being taught the faith in our Catholic schools and religious education programs as well as college students who benefit from ‘on-site’ campus ministry. The Diocese also supports retreats and camps to meet the needs of those spiritually and physically limited. From parish offices to athletic programs, the work of faith reaches out toward every dimension of our lives. The Diocese of Harrisburg seeks to teach the Gospel to fashion a society in the manner of the Gospel and in keeping with the dignity of life.
