One Lie Leads To Another (The Carbon Tax Repeal Bill Rag) By so-called reputable people we so often are misled And one lie leads to another we so often have heard said For to cover up for one lie, another you must tell Tis a thorny path to heaven but an easy path to hell. One lie leads to another and that always is the case Your first lie for deception and your second to save face And when youre faced with truth, the truth you will deny And to lie, to you, comes easy so you tell another lie. Look at Prime Minister Abbott, to Australian people he cried, Why not a simple tax on carbon? while on the opposition side. Had he kept to the truth in the first place that might have let it be But then he took the populist route and sided with the Party of Tea. Then one lie lead to another and to too many more to count; The map will lose Whyalla! and Energy costs will mount! The truth of guilt would free him but the truth can be hard to speak When to lie is always easy and tis easy to be weak. One lie leads to another so mind what you say is true Its important we can believe you and trust the things you do And though the truth, at times, is hard, the truth will serve us best When voting for the best for all or in a lie detector test.
