One of Lenins first priorites as head of the new goverment was to bring order and stability. One of the first things he did was to withdraw from world war 1.Lenin felt it necessary to place the economic power under the direct control of the control goverment this led to implementation of the war communism it was named as such because lenin introduced communism in the midst of a civil war. His hasty policy of nationalisation created many problems for example workwes were organised in the worker commitees and placed in charge. The surplus produced of thr peasants was confiscated and the peasants was no longer motivated to produce more than what was needed for their own use. Milllions of peasants used old farming methods which led them to supply food. War communism was a disaster which lead to the death of 5 million,the state retained ownership of the land,they could hire additional land and employ additional workers. The state took direct control of industry factories with more than 2 workers was run by trust companies foreign capitals were invited to invest in industry,forced collectivisation was ended income & property taxes was levied NEP was a success production increased & led to economy reviving.
