One of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walkers earliest failures was his rejection of high speed rail across the state from Chicago to Madison and on to St. Paul. Bad for Wisconsin but potentially good for Minnesota. From a Minnesota perspective the proposal was poor because it failed to connect the Twin Cities with Rochester. With the states investment last year in the Destination Medical Center making the investment connecting Rochester with the Cities and especially the airport (MSP-DMC) only makes more sense to facilitate the movement of patients, family, and staff. A huge potential benefit for SE Minnesota and the whole state that will only be possible if the DFL retains the governorship and legislature in this coming election. tinyurl/mkwxyla
