One of our alumni, Norman Johnson, commented on our LinkedIn discussion today about whats the greatest piece of career advice youve been given?. He wrote: While it is not a piece of career advice, it is inspiring and has helped me in all my endeavors to stick with something to the end. It is Winston Churchills famous speech Never Give In. When you start something, stick with it until you finish it. The same goes for getting your degree or anything else you undertake. This speech was given after the war to a group of students. What makes this statement significant is that it implies that with anything you endeavor to do their will be hard times, but stick to your convictions. Here is the speech: “Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” Such a good reminder! How about you? Whats the greatest piece of career advice youve been given?
