One of our biggest goals at Village of Hope is for ANY person who walks through the door to see the fingerprints of God all over the place. A recent team that came to Village of Hope asked their team members to share where they had seen evidences of God that week during their trip. Here is their responses which I found too beautiful not to share. :) EVIDENCES OF GOD IN GUATEMALA “I am your GOD…… I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you, I will hear you, I will not forsake you, I will open, I will make a way, I will plant, I will be with you that you may SEE and KNOW and consider and understand together that the hand of the Lord has done this.” Isaiah 41-17-20 (Though these verses were written to the Israelites, the wording is timely in SHOWING us HIM through what we observed in Guatemala……) ******************************************************************************************************** I showed…….. you better ways of loving and helping people and how to support those serving in the field. I provided………everything you needed to meet the requests…even garden stakes. I supplied……. food for the villagers as I taught you a new meaning of “abundance”. I AM your abundance and my grace is sufficient. I strengthened ………you to do more than you would have done if you had been in the comforts of your home. I exposed…….. you to another culture and more of My people. I filled…….. your heart with joy as you watched women learn a new skill. I added ……9 new souls to My Kingdom. I created…..families who are not biologically related so they may know the love of others as well My love for them. I affirmed…..an abused and used woman through the ministry and love of a group of women. I rescued and restored…..young women, children and boys and gave them hope. I saved……. a family from despair through a church’s assistance and mother’s hard work. I am teaching ……a mother how to be a mother to the children I gave her. I placed……..a song in the heart of a little boy…..that joyously ends his morning tunes with “Happy Birthday”. I built…..a safe place for the families who live at Village of Hope. I drew ……..smiles on the faces of children who were once sad and afraid. I erased ……the shame that once plagued all of these young lives. I redeemed …….young men and young women through My Son’s sacrifice on the cross. They are valued because of His work. I bestowed….. love to mothers and children through workers and visitors to Village of Hope. I taught….the physically and emotionally abused that there is hope in Jesus Christ. They are learning that He first loved them. I allowed……you to witness the rescue and restoration of these precious children. I became….. a Father to the children though their mothers and fathers forsook them. I revealed………. Myself in creation through beautiful flowers, blue skies, and children’s faces. I enabled …….young girls to learn how to sew with persistence and speed. I removed……the language barrier through love and hugs. I brought …….healing to some girls so they can worship Me through dancing. I touched…..Griselda’s heart through a gift of roses. I healed….. wounds in children’s hearts so they can now express love to others. I enlarged….a young man’s heart so that he selflessly gave up shoes he wanted to another worker. I kept……you safe and healthy during your trip. I opened ……your eyes and heart. I have done ALL of these things that you may SEE and KNOW that I am God.
