One of the best feelings you get as a teacher is when you see the beaming pride on your weakest students faces when they manage to improve in their performance :)) With sufficient and appropriate guidance, every child is able to learn and achieve at his or her own pace. Sometimes it takes some hair-pulling effort, but most times all they need is to believe that someone cares enough to push through with them beyond their limits. Visal was the slowest student in the new Math class I had to take over since several weeks ago. Today, he was the first to complete his class work with NO mistakes. I told him Great job, Visal! and announced his achievement to the class. They were surprised and starting cheering for him. The look on his face today fuels me to keep doing what I do: Teach.
