One of the better and simpler designs Ive seen for adding lightweight flotation devices to a Phantom, enabling it to land and take-off on calm water. Most of the other devices Ive seen look to me to be either (a) heavier, and (b) likely to cause too much turbulence in flight. If I was doing any flying over water this would be the system Id adopt. It would cost one two empty, plastic water bottles and a few cable ties.... the ten cent solution could save you thousands of Dollars.
