One of the biggest questions couples have is how they should divvy - TopicsExpress

One of the biggest questions couples have is how they should divvy up their wedding budget. Or, in other words, where will they get the most bang for their wedding buck? Ill answer that with a question of my own. Think back to the last wedding you attended. What do you remember the most? Was it the dress? The flowers? The limo? The food? The bartender? Probably not (and my dress shop, florist, caterer, and limo friends will hate me for saying that..but its true). Was it the ceremony that brought the bride and groom (and you) to tears? Probably! Was it the way the MC kept the evening flowing smoothly? Could be! Was it the way the absolutely incredible DJ had you dancing and having fun all night long? Definitely! Or, if you didnt have a great time, what sucked the most? A bad dress? Wilting flowers? Bland dinner? Or was it an Officiant that you couldnt understand who messed up the couples names? Or was it a DJ that couldnt keep the floor full? Ill admit - Im a bit partial, but heres my take. The Officiant is responsible for the most important part of the day. Its his job to deliver a meaningful, fun, poignant, personalized ceremony. The DJ/MC is responsible for the largest number of hours on the big day. Its his job to keep the guests informed, entertained, and dancing all night long. Its also his job to ensure the entire afternoon and evening flow smoothly. Im going to throw one more vendor into the mix - the photographer. While the Officiant and DJ make the memories, its the photographer who captures them all for you to enjoy for years to come. You definitely need an expert photographer! Theres nothing worse than a great memory that never made it to print. In other words, go for the best Officiant, DJ, and photographer you can find. Then figure out the rest of the vendors with what is left in your budget.
