One of the igredience of the unrest, clashes, revolutions and sectarian war in the Middle East and North Africa is, besides the Sunni vs Shiit conflicts, the conflict between the Petro-Dollar and the intentions of oil-exporting states to deal oil/gas on the basis of EURO or a basket of EURO, Chinese, Russian, Gold and other currencies.Iraq tried to change into the EURO, Syria tried to change into the EURO, Lybia tried to base the export on a new solid gold currency - and Iran withdrew also from the Petro-Dollar. The result in all the above mentioned cases was and is still war and tensions. Russia, as a oil-exporting state also plays a role in this conflict. The Petro-Dollar expresses a convention between Saudi Arabia and the USA in 1972/73 to trade petrol only in Dollars. These Dollars are re-invested in the USA and and in a lesser extend in Europe - and also went into consume. The USA are in great debt against the Saudis and Emirates. Their ruling families are Wahabits and Sunni. The dissenting states have a high percentage of Shiit, as Iraq, Iran, Syria. In the fight for the supremacy of the Petrodollar hatered between Sunni and Shiits is created -in societes, that had not be fighting against each other in such extend.I may be wrong with my ideas - but we have to take the facts, concerning the Petro-dollar and its function, into consideration.
