One of the most common rebuttals against a post-scarcity world is incentive. People often say that in a world where money is no longer relevant or simply does not exist, there would be no incentive for anyone to do anything. I suppose, in a way, that is a valid concern, but it can be easily addressed. And instead of throwing a bunch of facts at you to try and prove my point, I am going to do something different. I am going to ask you to explore your true ambitions and interests for a moment. Lets say that you were free to choose exactly how you would spend your life, because money was no longer a dictating factor for you. You can chose to do whatever you want with your life, pursue any ambition you want, any career, regardless of how much money it brings in or what it costs to get the education necessary. What would you want to do? And you can name more than one. The purpose of this is to simply explore your ambitions and interests. I will start. If money was not a dictating factor in any way, I would want to learn electronics, robotics, computer programming, communications, creative writing, music production, and computer generated imagery/animation (CGI). In my spare time, I would study musical instruments like the Sitar and the Baglama. I would also learn how to play funk riffs on the electric guitar. Think about your ambitions, interests, and dreams for a minute, and then share them. Even if they seem crazy, dont be shy. Just share.
