One of the points of the sermon of Pastor John Avant of First - TopicsExpress

One of the points of the sermon of Pastor John Avant of First Baptist Concord today was “How much of my speech is purely for the Glory of God?” That made me think not only about my speech but my Facebook Posts and my “Likes”. I am NOT preaching, I am NOT trying to be “holier than thou” and I am NOT saying you should do the same, but I AM saying, I am making a personal commitment to my family, my friends, my Facebook community and to God, not to “like”, repost and post anything that I deem would be displeasing to our God. This includes profanity, negative comments about our President and other Government officials (I may not like them, but negative posts are not what will make a difference – factual information about changes that need to take place is different story), hurtful or disrespectful comments about family, friends, companies, groups of people or even those I do not know. In some case, this may be that I hide a post from someone else, unlike some pages and I may have to de-friend some folks. Again, Facebook is an open forum and I am not telling you how to post, just my position on my personal posts and posts viewable on my timeline going forward. If you see me failing, first please say a prayer for me; and second, call me out on it – accountability is important.
