One of the things that upsets me most is when contractors use the disabled parking spots to park their skips and vehicles during shop renovations. This makes it virtually impossible for those the parking spaces are for, to use them. Yes, I understand that the spots are close to entrances and exits, but contractors can walk and stand without pain. While I may not have to use a wheelchair often these days, Im in constant pain and at risk of falling (so I rarely go out alone). Shops and shopping centres know when they are going to have works done, so could easily make other provisions for contractors! Why not take up regular parking spaces, loading bays or the like?
