WACO, Texas (AP) - A Central Texas prosecutor who accidentally fired a bullet through a glass office window while admiring a colleagues new gun has been demoted. The Waco Tribune-Herald (bit.ly/1b63UPv ) reported Tuesday that Michael Jarrett will get less pay and more oversight from McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna. Nobody was hurt Nov. 4 as the bullet broke the window and hit a nearby brick wall. Jarrett, who says he thought the gun wasnt loaded, formerly was first assistant district attorney. Reyna on Friday promoted his deputy first assistant, Greg Davis, to first assistant DA. Jarrett will become an assistant district attorney handling cases assigned by Reyna, who also cited personnel matters for the move. Davis and Jarrett also swapped salaries.
