Open to already registered members only - General Manager Location: South Eastern Indiana Job Code: SEI_GM_6.16.14 Description General Manager The Company located in Osgood, Indiana is accepting applications for the position of General Manager due to our current General Manager retiring at the end of the year 2014. Our Company is a member-owned rural electric cooperative serving 26,000 plus meters with a bargaining/non-bargaining unit full time workforce of 64 and a 9 member board of directors. We are a nonprofit cooperative which means any excess of revenue over expenses (margins) is treated as capital contributed by each member in proportion to the amount of electricity purchased. The seven county service territory is located in the heart of three major metropolitan areas; Cincinnati, Ohio to the east, Louisville, Kentucky to the south, and Indianapolis, Indiana to the north. All three cities are within an hour and a half drive from the headquarters. We receives our wholesale power from Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. and is also a member of NRECA and is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative. The successful candidate will advise and assist the board of directors in the development of strategic direction, policies, budgets and contracts. Will also develop and maintain the staff and resources needed to carry out the mission of our organization; oversee the day-to-day operations and foster member relations. Five to seven years of management experience plus a Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in business administration and experience in a cooperative business is desirable. The candidate will be a person of integrity and courage; possess exceptional leadership skills; and create a working environment consisting of teamwork, problem solving, results and development. Our Organization is home to a strong farming community, easy access to Clifty Falls State Park and Versailles State Park and three riverboat casinos along the scenic Ohio River, one (Belterra Casino Resort and Spa) of which receives electricity from the cooperative. Southeastern Indiana is well known for its abundant wildlife providing some of the tri-states best lakes for fishing, deer and turkey hunting. The service territory provides excellent educational opportunities with nine school systems that feed into a highly technical career center, and three Ivy Tech State College campuses. The area also has five hospitals within thirty minutes of the headquarters as well as access to major hospitals in each of the three metropolitan cities.
