Other Happenings in Zambia -Three newly appointed ambassadors and one High Commissioner to Zambia today presented their letters of credence to President MICHAEL SATA at State House. The diplomats who presented their letters of credence are from Burundi, Egypt India and Japan -The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has set February 25 as the date for the KASENENGWA parliamentary by- election and six local government wards. This follows the nullification of the seat by the Supreme Court which was held by MMDs VICTORIA KALIMA. -The Supreme Court has upheld the election of MMD MAFINGA Member of Parliament CATHERINE NAMUGALA. MS. NAMUGALAS seat was petitioned by Patriotic Front-PFs JAMES GONDWE who alleged that her election was marred by electoral malpractices. In passing judgment a penal of 5 SUPREME COURT JUDGES led by Justice MUNYINDA WANKI stated that there was no merit in the grounds of appeal and dismissed the appeal. -Vice President, GUY SCOTT says the planned election of Lusaka District Chairman due to be held tomorrow is illegal. Dr SCOTT who also Patriotic Front Party Vice President says the election is illegal because it has not been sectioned by higher organs of the party or the chairperson for elections, Ms. SYLVIA MASEBO. He told ZNBC news in LUSAKA today that disciplinary action will be taken against any PF members planning to hold elections for Lusaka District Chairman. The Vice President said even members who will participate in the voting will also be subjected to disciplinary action. Via ZNBC News
