Our busy season continues with the IOSPB heading to the Applecross Gala tomorrow ( Sat 27th), our Pipe Major Alan Mackenzie will be competing at the SPB competitions in Dumbarton with the Beauly PB. Young Stuart Nicolson will be acting pipie at Applecross. Every Tuesday evening as usual in Portree at 8.00pm, next Saturday 3rd August we are very much looking forward to crossing the Minch to support the very talented, prize wining Lewis Pipeband at the Carnival. Tuesday 6th playing slightly earlier at 7.00pm in Portree Square and then up up to the Skye Piping Society Ceilidh in the SG Hall. Wednesday 7th August is the BIG one, The Skye Highland Games, the busiest day in Portree. We look forward to welcoming once again the Chicago Kiltie Stockyard Pipes and Drums and new visitors to Skye, the Gouldburn Soldiers Club PB all the way from Auz. There will be a truly international MASSED PIPES AND DRUMS this year marching through Portree starting at 9.40am and at regular times throughout the day at the Games. later in the month we head east to make our annual visit to the Nairn Games where we will join another 7/8 Pipe Bands for a great spectacle marching through the seaside village, led by senior Drum Major John Matheson ( the Prof ). A busy August!
