Our latest blog post: Going Away Party ift.tt/1sQwtGG It’s that time of the year again– mid-August. The end of the summer is upon us and in just a few weeks students will be picking up and leaving their homes for college. Before they do, however, it’s important to show your child how much you’ll miss them with one last hurrah. This year, make the end of the summer count when you hop aboard a Star Fleet yacht and throw an incredible going away party! Throw a Going Away Party The Size. Is this a big shindig or a small one? Seeing all your family and friends is always a great time, but so is spending a personal afternoon with those closest to you. Deciding the size of the going away party from the beginning will help you figure out the logistics later on. Guest List. The guest list for a smaller, more personal family party is simple. When it comes to larger parties, however, it becomes a bit more challenging. Put some serious thought into the guest list and don’t be afraid to ask your child who they would like to invite. This is the best way to ensure that all of your child’s friends are invited and no one is left out. Date and Time. When it comes to a date and time, the end of the summer can get tricky. With families going on last minute vacations and students leaving for school, it’s important to shoot for a date that will both work for you and have the most attendance. Throwing a going away party a week or so before the majority of student leave and schools begin will ensure that most of your child’s friends will attend and that most families will be around. Location. As the last hurrah before your baby goes off to college, you’ll want this party to be one to remember. Make this going away party special with a unique and accessible location. One of today’s hottest trends is throwing yacht parties. And when you organizing a party with Star Fleet yachts your party is sure to be unique, accessible, fun, and easy for all! Theme. Keep it simple. The theme of any going away party is always the person going away. When it comes to your child leaving for college, let the theme reflect his or her school. A few great ideas for decorations include school colored streamers, balloons, and confetti. Invitations. When throwing a smaller, more personal party, word of mouth works best. When throwing a larger party, however, we suggest e-mail. E-mails are quick, inexpensive, get the point across, and are easy to do! And if you’re looking to spruce it up a bit, consider attaching a few photos or even writing a poem. Food and Drinks. Once your guests RSVP, begin looking into food. While this most likely will not be a challenge for a smaller party, food for larger parties take thought and consideration. Send an e-mail to your guests asking about any food allergies. If hiring a catering company or venue with an in-house chef, be sure to inform them ahead of time if allergies are a concern. Time to Party. Now that you’ve set up the party, the next step is simple. Enjoy it! In just a few weeks students will be leaving for college. End summer right with one last hurrah! With experience from Houston corporate events to the latest wedding trends, at Star Fleet yachts we make throwing a party fun and easy to do! So send off your college student the right way with a going away party on a Star Fleet yacht.
