Our military is being strained. After so many years of war we need to rebuild our force. However, sequestration and further budget cuts are killing us. Our Army is 450K solders short and our Marines need new equipment and are about 70K Marines short. Additionally, we need to maintain our edge on 5th generation fighters and cutting our Navys fleet strength has proven to be disastrous. Our Nuclear arsenal is dangerously low to not being a deterrent from a 1st strike and we need to be looking at creating a separate space force department in the next decade. Two major regional wars are likely within the next 5 years and if we get bogged down we will not have a military capable of defense. The Russians and Chinese are seeing this and quickly developing a first strike nuclear capability. If they get that advantage it will be extraordinarily dangerous. We are in trouble, we need to revise our strategic intent. We MUST maintain Full Spectrum Dominance...or we will fail....we are not on that path right now. The US has not been this vulnerable since 1934. Scary stuff..
