Our oldest daughter attended Maines Charter High School, The Maine School of Science and Mathematics, living 6 hours away from home throughout her high school years. Her leaving home at age 14 was a sacrifice for our close family, but this was offset by her being intellectually challenged and happy. In her case and Im sure for others she met there, she was studying work above her easy-to-understand comprehension and with her intellectual peers for the first time, starting in 9th grade ... a life-enriching experience.
