Our talented friend and musical partner Peter Spring has suffered a major stroke. We are, very sad and deeply frustrated by this - his loss of speech (aphasia) and right hemisphere paralysis. Peter is deeply frustrated. However, Peter is by nature a positive, resilient man and his great attitude will win him 9/10ths of the battle. Peter is not afraid of hard work and I feel confident that he will recover most if not all of his mobility and speech. Peter is among many things a music therapist. And in my very brief review of literature on the subject, stroke victims with Aphasia (loss of speech) who receive intensive music therapy in the first few months following a stroke have statistically significant and faster improvements in speech and mobility over folks who dont receive music therapy. So time is of the essence... Today I am performing in the Applegate at a fire district fundraiser with Anna Christensen. Peter was supposed to perform with us in our first trio appearance.
