Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Dr. James R. (Doc) Dixon on his passing, especially to his wife Mary and their children. Jim was much more than just a professor. He and Mary were like Mom and Pop to many of his students. He was highly respected for his devotion to his work as well as to his family. He had to put up with me and my two sons. I first met Dr. Dixon at the Texas Herpetological field trip in the late 1960s, then had him as a professor in 1970. Troy had him as Professor in 1990 and worked with him on a couple of projects. Toby worked for him in about 1998 on a project and continued working with him at TCWC after Doc retired. We will miss him for his mentorship to us and as a colleague and friend. Terry Hibbitts
