Over the past couple of days I’ve been discussion the registration fee for the CVG Camp of Instruction on March 28-30. Due to the logistical advantages of holding the COI at Jerusalem Millis, we’ve decided we will not have a registration fee. Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so if they wish when they arrive. All I ask is that those planning to attend simply email me or their company commander that they plan to attend so we can have an accurate estimate of how many people to expect. For those not familiar with Jerusalem Mills this link will give you an idea of its location and what to expect - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_Mill_Village Keep in mind Jerusalem Mills is part of the Gunpowder Falls State Park, so we will have to follow MD State Park Service rules. This means we will be very limited in being able to do any firing. However, this is a camp of instruction, and it is not necessary to do much firing if any. The focus will be drill and training. I am planning to do some extensive training in skirmish drill and outpost duty late Saturday afternoon and evening as that will be very important for us at events this year. Guys are gradually sending in their membership dues for 2014, but there are many that still need to pay if they hope to participate with the CVG this year. I’ve asked that this been done by Feb. 1 which is this coming Saturday. I will continue to keep people on the roster through February and March, but after the Camp of Instruction, anyone that hasn’t paid their dues will be officially dropped as a CVG member. So if you are planning to attend the Camp of Instruction, please let me know. Respectfully, Col. John A. Wyman Chesapeake Volunteer Guard
