Over the weekend I was invited by the San Joaquin Delta Power Squadron to their 100 Years of Safe Boating celebration. I told them I am working at the federal and local level to oppose the tunnels deal with the water hyacinth problem in the Delta; the hyacinth pose a serious threat to the safety and navigability of our waterways. The Power Squadron is part of a national non-profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation, and related subjects.
