PATCH gives food (5 days, breakfast, lunch dinner and hopefully a few treats) clothing, and small practical household items, (pots and pans, kettles bedding etc). We also hold a Christmas toy appeal (but collect all year round) giving only new toys and gifts. Fill your boots is a project where we enable people with no cooking facilities to access a hot meal, working with nominated cafes. Monday at 10 am we launch our new fruit and vegetable coop - people can buy them at cost price. We also have 60 volunteers, as well as a waiting list. Volunteering gives employment skills, adds to your CV and gives an opportunity for a reference. Volunteering also helps prevent social isolation. Volunteering at PATCH enables people to become part of the PATCH family and we laugh a lot. We are registered with Careers Wales for work experience for schools and college. We are always thinking of the next step to enable people to get out of poverty, working closely with other groups helps this to happen. We are helping people to help themselves. Ideas are always welcomed, and we have a few new projects on the horizon, but we need to perfect what we are doing before doing more.
